Updates to Grad Funding in Atlas

Updates to Grad Funding in Atlas

MIT Office of the Vice Chancellor
Dear graduate students,The latest update to the MIT Atlas app adds functionality to the Funding tile, and introduces a new Leaves and Vacation tile for students when they are appointed as a Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant, and/or Instructor-Graduate (IG).

The Funding tile allows you to view any MIT appointments or awards entered by your program for the current, previous, and upcoming terms. The update includes notifications while your appointment is processed, and access to a more detailed appointment letter to review before confirming your funding.

Please take a moment to update the MIT Atlas app to the latest version, allowing you to do the following as your department processes graduate appointments and awards for the spring semester:

* Confirm the listed supervisor(s) on your Research Assistantships (RA), Teaching Assistantships (TA), and/or Instructor-Graduate (IG) position is correct.

* If you are a TA, confirm the subject(s) you are appointed to assist.

* Review any fellowship awards you may have.If any information in your funding is incorrect, please use the app to suggest corrections or email grad-funding-help@mit.edu.

The Leaves and Vacation tile will be visible when you have an active RA, TA or IG position, allowing you to report sick time and request other leave types. You will be prompted for information needed to process your request before it is routed to the designated approvers.

Students with eligible appointments and awards may also sign up for a 70% transit subsidy as of January 1, 2024.We hope you will find these enhancements useful and welcome any feedback and suggestions for improvement.Sincerely,

Ian
