Grants for Educational Innovation

In today’s increasingly fast-moving, complex, and competitive world, the need for flexibility and creativity in teaching and learning is crucial. OUE manages the distribution of several educational funds that help enable MIT faculty to initiate innovative educational projects that enrich the curriculum and enhance the student experience. Examples include:

  • Algorithmic Reasoning and Computational Thinking – Call for ProposalsFunding is available to develop subjects that use and teach algorithmic reasoning and computational thinking in domain-specific contexts.

  • The d'Arbeloff Fund for Excellence in Education supports innovation in teaching and curriculum design that enhances and potentially transforms the educational experience of MIT's undergraduate students.

  • Alumni Class Funds provide seed money for new, "high risk" initiatives that encourage creative curriculum and teaching changes, improve the quality of teaching, and enrich the learning experience, including the imaginative use of technology and applications.
