DUE Communications

The Black Women’s Alliance (BWA) surprised DiOnetta Jones Crayton recently by naming her as the first recipient of the BWA Ayida Mthembu Award. The award was created to honor Mthembu’s service to MIT and the BWA. Mthembu recently retired after a nearly 30-year career as an associate dean in Student Support Services and head of house at Eastgate.

The award was announced at BWA’s 20th reunion banquet in March. Although DiOnetta was unable to attend the event, the award presentation was captured on video. Click on the image at right to view a video clip of the presentation.

Congratulations, DiOnetta!
