Crossing the Charles with MIT family and friends
The day kicks off with an innovative procession over land and water that celebrates the Institute’s historic relocation to the City of Cambridge in 1916. This is a fun and uniquely MIT day for us, our family, and friends: all are invited! Join the parade over the bridge—led by Grand Marshal Oliver Smoot ’62—and cheer for the Crossing the Charles competition. Come in festive spirit...costumes and props are optional!

Mind and Hand: A Pageant!
Engaging technology and the arts in the largest community gathering of the spring, Killian Court will host a multimedia celebration of MIT’s history with an entertaining look to the future. Is it mind or hand? The spirits of Mens and Manus come to life for a debate on the true essence of MIT.

Come see unique pyrotechnic displays, multimedia soundscapes on the facade of Building 10, student performers, and the renowned dance troupe Pilobolus’s fascinating blend of art and science! Mind and Hand: A Pageant! is open to community members, alumni, friends, and families of MIT. Please dress for the weather; no tickets required.

Killian Court opens at 7:45 pm; Pageant 8:30 – 9:30 pm

Let’s Dance!
Come as you are—or dressed for your favorite decade!—to campus dance parties whose themes trace 100 years of music and culture. Live performances, refreshments, and frivolity from 9:30 pm to midnight. Venues: Walker Memorial, McDermott Court, North Court, and Kresge Oval.
