The IT Corner: October is Cyber Security Month!

Steven Burke, Director of Administrative Computing for DUE and DSL

IS&T launched a number of new services and recommendations over the summer to help increase security for our computers and data.

MIT DUO: Two-Factor Authentication

Starting September 30, all faculty and staff are required to use a two-factor authentication service called Duo for systems and applications accessed through Touchstone authentication service, administrative access to systems managed by IS&T or located in IS&T data centers, and remote access to the MIT VPN.

  • Sign up for MIT Duo security account management

LastPass: The Last Password You’ll Ever Need!

IS&T now offers LastPass, a password management system, to help staff manage all the passwords they need for the multiple systems they use. LastPass can also generate complex passwords to use that you won’t need to remember, and it will warn you if you are using the same password for different sites.
