MIT Global Challenge Invites the MIT Community to Address Community Development Challenges

Global Challenge logoThe MIT Global Challenge connects students with the passion and talent to improve the world with the experience and resources of the MIT community worldwide. Built on the success of the IDEAS Competition, the MIT Global Challenge seeks to expand IDEAS’ scope by leveraging the power of MIT’s worldwide alumni network.

The Global Challenge offers a window into innovation at MIT and invites students, faculty, staff, alumni, and their collaborators to identify and address community development challenges through innovation and collaboration in communities around the world. The competition awards up to $25,000 per team for the best ideas to tackle barriers to well being. IDEAS and Global Challenge teams are often inspired by their participation in the D-Lab family of courses, Development Ventures at the MIT Media Lab, engineering courses like 2.009, and many others.
