DUE Hosts Faculty Connections Reception

By Fran Maronne, Senior Administrative Assistant, DUE

On Friday afternoon, May 18th, Dean Daniel Hastings hosted a faculty reception in the Bush Room to honor the faculty’s generous “contributions and connections” to DUE.

Over 50 faculty attended the event and in his welcome to them, the Dean acknowledged the vital and numerous contributions our faculty have made on behalf of undergraduate students as well as to the offices and staff of DUE. Faculty have given DUE support through service on various committees including the Committee on Academic Performance (CAP), the Committee on Faculty–Administration (CFA), the Committee on Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid (CUAFA), and through mentoring and advising programs such as the Undergrad and Pre Professional Advising, and the Freshman/Alumni Summer Internship Program (F/ASIP) through the Careers Office.

Many faculty expressed thanks on this recognition of their service and voiced their own professional satisfaction on being given the opportunity to work with other faculty and students in a variety of ways. In order to enhance and strengthen the critical intersection of faculty/students/administration, DUE created the Office of Faculty Support in 2006.

Plans are underway to host another reception this fall for DUE and Faculty Connections.
